Nichoals's question 3 .
There was something unusual about the group of men sitting at the void deck. They were making a lot of noise the pass few nights. They were shouting at the top of their voices, disturbing the residents.
My name is Ali bubba, I know that my name is funny and you are laughing now. Never mind, I am living at the estate where the men are making the noise. I was also disturbed by the noise made by the group of man.
As nights past, I finally got irritated by the noise and I decided to go and talk to them.
When I reach the ground floor I over heard that they are going to rob a household.
When I heard that I want to call the police but couldn’t as I did not have any evidence. So I continued to watch them. After five minutes, they moved. I followed them. They took the lift to the five storey I took the staircase. When I reached, I saw them forcing a window open. Now I whipped out my phone and dialed for the police.
When I put down my phone, I saw that they had already inside the house. After five minutes, police sirens were heard and I saw those men coming out. I tried to stop them but was pushed away violently, but managed to stall them. The police officers came up and apprehended them.
The burglars were brought to the police station and I was praised for my bravery act. My mother was also being called down to the station. She praised me but also got scolded as it was very dangerous for a teenager to do that. If anything happens to me, she would never forgive herself. I promised not to do these dangerous act ever again and we went home. The day was very memorable to me.

Clements question 3 .
“There was something unusual about the group of men sitting at the void deck,” thought Ali Bubba as he removed the cover of the rubbish bin, “they had been causing trouble around this area, I wonder if they would cause any trouble to me and my search for recyclable materials.” Ali Bubba reached eighteen this year; his parents had died years ago and left him homeless and penniless when he was only ten years old. He lives in the void deck and look for recyclable materials to sell to the “karung guni” men who visit the area to collect old newspapers and other unwanted items. If he was lucky to be able to find recyclable materials, he would get a proper meal but if not, he would starve.
After hours of searching the rubbish bins around the void deck without any luck, Ali Bubba proceeded to search the rubbish dumps around the void deck. He was emptying the rubbish dumps when the same group of men he saw sitting at the void deck approached him, they offered him to join them and told him that if he agrees; he would have a better “life” with them and not need to look for recyclable materials from dirty rubbish bins and dumps to earn a living. When Ali Bubba heard from the men that he was able to have a better life with them, he readily agreed despite the fact that the group of men is suspicious and might get him into trouble if he joins them.
Ali Bubba was happy with his new life with the group of men, he had enough to eat everyday and do not need to work hard for a living.
They loitered around void decks, extorting money from students passing-by their “territory” and spent time drinking beer or playing in arcades together. These happy days ended when they met another gang, the other gang started a staring incident with the gang and this started a quarrel between the two gangs. A gang fight was arranged and Ali Bubba and the gang looked for weapons to be wielded for the gang fight. Ali Bubba was initially hesitant and afraid when he looked at the sharp and dangerous weapons, but when he looked at how brave the other men in his gang are, he mustered enough courage for the gang fight and chose a dagger as his weapon.
Soon, the time for the gang fight arrived and the two gangs started fighting each other with deadly weapons. During the fight, Ali Bubba hid in a corner in fear of being killed and did not participate in the fight; everything could have gone well for Ali Bubba if a member of the other gang had not noticed him. The man ran towards Ali Bubba and raised his chopper to attack; it would have been over for Ali Bubba if he had not noticed him and dodged the attack. Knowing the consequences of assault, he dropped his dagger and fled from the scene.
The next morning, Ali Bubba found out that the two gangs had been caught by the police for fighting with dangerous weapons. He was glad that he fled from the scene and avoided trouble with the police; he learnt his lesson and never joined a group of suspicious people in their activities. He managed to find a proper job to earn a living and he never missed a meal, he worked hard and he lived happily ever after. (581 words)

Gyans question 3 .
There was something unusual about the group of men sitting at the void deck. One of them since to be in a trance while his companions were laughing at him. Soon, he lay on the bench and got knocked out.
My name is Ali Bubba. You might wonder why my last name is so weird and my friends would all laugh at me. However, I do not have any friends as I am a poverty-stricken orphan boy living in the void decks. It was just that by some unfortunate circumstances that I ended up as a hobo in the streets.
I was searching for some recyclable materials to earn a couple of dollars to earn myself a meal when I found a group of hooligan-like people sitting at the stone bench where I usually had my hard-earned meal.
“Ha ha ha! Look at John! He’s only been at it for two minutes and he’s already unconscious. You try it next Jack!” the burly one of them shouted. Then, another gangster-like teenager grabbed a couple of white packets on the table and emptied them into his mouth. His eyes went unfocused and he slumped onto the table like his companion. The others burst into laughter.
Suddenly, the “boss” spotted me watching them from a pillar. He shouted at me and at once, my legs turned to jelly. Immobilised, I waited for my fate. His two remaining companions grabbed me by the arms and reeled me towards him. His evil grin bearing down at me, he took one of the packets and forced it down my mouth.
The moment the powder or crystals touched my tongue, the sensation was something I have not encountered before. Everything seems to be fading fast, too fast for me to grasp. The next moment I found myself lying on the floor. They were all gone by then. Determined to taste it again, I licked the table of those crystals. It was not enough though.
The next day, I could not concentrate in what I am doing. I longed for that bittersweet sensation from those crystals. Once or twice, I seemed to catch a glimpse of those gangsters. The moment I saw them, I would make a dash for them but they turned out to be different people. Eventually, I found them again one day sitting at behind one block. I begged them for those “powdered crystals”. They smiled and stroke a deal with me.
“If you want more of those things, you have to pay for them. We’ll give you a discount since you’re a kid. How about $20? We’ll meet you in the next two days right here in this same spot. Until then…”
“How am I supposed to get $20 in two days time? I could steal…but that’s the wrong thing to do…”I thought to myself. Yet I was too desperate to have more of that stuff. In the end, I decided to rob people of their money. Over the weeks, my addiction grew to the “powdered crystals” and I needed five packets a day to calm myself. It was about time that Fate extended his hand.
One day, I ran to the same place where I’m supposed to meet them every two days. However, I found them with a bunch of police officers. The gangsters saw me and began shouting at me. I do not know why, but I started running, afraid of getting in any danger. Eventually, the police officers caught up to me and handcuffed me. I struggled but the hand-cuffs remained strong.
They took me over to the Drug Rehabilitation Centre to cleanse my addiction. Then, they educated me on those “powdered crystals” which were really drugs. I was so shocked that I was addicted to those things. After my treatment, they released me into an Orphans’ Home where it will be my home until I grew up.
Those incidents made a very deep impression in my mind. I vowed not to take drugs again and I used the advantage to educate the other orphans in the homes. I was going to turn over a new leaf.
